Working in the CT and MRI Job Markets
Radiology offers several different possibilities in the job market. Depending on which portion you decide to focus on you can enjoy a career in ultrasound, or as a Radiologist Technologist doing CT and MRI. Fortunately there are also several schools that can provide the necessary education to work in these fields.
As a working professional you can expect a consistently busy schedule and a steady career. Whether you are working in a large hospital or a smaller medical clinic you can also anticipate a variety of unique medical equipment to your facility. Some medical centers will carry used ultrasound equipment of one particular make and model and another may carry an entirely different line. For example you may find yourself at one job working with a Sony machine while at another job you may work with a Philips. Depending on which field you work in as well, if you’re working with ultrasound some of the systems you are exposed to will most likely be GE such the Logiqbook or Vivid lines.
Regardless of what you’re using, new or refurbished equipment, it’s important to fully understand it in order to provide the most accurate information for your patients. Investing your time in the systems that your facility has put its trust in will allow you to pull ahead in your career as well.
