Special Broadband Service for Mac Users
Apple has always done something new and exciting for its loyal customers, and this time, it is MacAce.net – a dedicated internet service for users of Mac. The “Always On” home packages are being promoted as free of bandwidth related issues as the company is promising that the service would not be affected by ‘traffic shaping or restrictions’.
There are several 24 Mb home packages, starting with ‘Always On Lite’ package priced at £16.49 on a rolling monthly contract. This starting package comes with 1 Gb of ‘MacMate’ web space, 10 Gb peak download limit (unlimited – off-peak download) and five email accounts. If one wants to increase the peak usage, then two options are available – up to 30 Gb in the ‘Always On Pro’ package for £24.39 per month, and up to 60 Gb in the ‘Always On Elite’ Package for £29.29 per month. There is however a £46 connection charge that must be paid for all 24 Mb packages.
In UK, MacAce.net is the latest addition to the ISP market and the 24Mb ADSL2+ broadband service over BT’s 21CN network will provide 1Mb upload speeds as well.
