How to Support Your Presidential Candidate
Winning the presidential election translates to having a huge reserve of cash to spend. That includes expenses on campaign trips, media services and other expenditure. And presidential candidates, no matter how popular they are or how big their bank accounts are, still need help as they can’t shoulder (or so they say) the huge costs entailed by political campaigns. Anyone willing to dish out some dollars can always donate to their presidential nominee’s funds. Oprah Winfrey, a vocal Obama supporter, raised $58 million to aid Obama’s finances. One does not need a thick checkbook though, to help financially. Obama’s website accepts donations for as low as $10. John McCain, on the other hand, accepts, at the very least, $25 in his campaign’s website. Aside from money, presidential candidates need volunteers. Aside from persuading other voters to vote for their nominee and do some field and office work, volunteers can also host several activities that can include housing the campaign staff, organize a house party for the candidate, and setting up action centers in their respective communities. But needless to say and the most important of all, as all presidential candidates ask of their supporters, one can help more if they register to vote.
